Before you start: Calibration is normally done at the factory before your bed is delivered, so you usually only need to recalibrate if a Personal Comfort service team member has recommended it. If they haven't, it's a good idea to check with them first. The whole process is just a few simple steps and takes several minutes per side.
Step 1: Check your remote's batteries
Make sure the wireless remote has fresh, working batteries installed correctly. Keep in mind that the battery layout can differ slightly depending on which remote model you have, so double-check that they're seated the right way.
Step 2: Check the air chamber connections
Confirm that all the air chambers on your bed are properly connected to the pump. For example, a dual-zone King has two chambers, each with its own air hose. You may notice that the hoses look a little different from one another depending on your bed's model year — that's normal, as both are standard factory-spec parts.
Step 3: Confirm power
Make sure the entire system is plugged in, powered on, and working normally before you begin.
Step 4: Get the remote to a blank screen
The remote needs to have a completely blank screen before you can enter the settings menu. If it's currently showing anything, wait until the screen goes dark.
Step 5: Open the technical settings menu
This uses a specific button combination:
- Press and hold both the left and right side control buttons at the same time.
- While still holding those two buttons, also press and hold the down button.
- Keep all three held until the menu screen appears, then quickly release all the buttons.
If the menu doesn't open on your first try, don't keep mashing the buttons. Wait for the screen to go blank again, then repeat the combination from the start.
Step 6: Find the calibration option
Once you're in the technical menu, use the up or down arrow to scroll through the options until you reach "Perform Calibration."
Step 7: Choose a side and start calibration
Press and hold the L (left) or R (right) button to pick which side of the bed you want to calibrate. Keep holding until the screen reads "Command Sent." The pump will then start the calibration process on its own.
Step 8: Let it run undisturbed
Calibration takes several minutes. During this time, don't touch, sit on, or disturb the pump or the remote — just let it finish. When it's done, the pump will stop running and the screen will go back to blank. Your system is now freshly calibrated and ready to use normally.
Step 9: Repeat for the other side (if needed)
Calibrating one side does not affect the other, so if you need to calibrate the second side, just repeat Steps 4 through 8 and select the other side. In many cases you'll do both sides, but it isn't always required.
